Getting a facial once a month is unfortunately not the best decision for your skin. having a beneficial home care routine could change the game for so many! Typically if you wear any spf's, makeup, or any heavy moisturizers you would want to start with an oil cleanse. Now for my acne prone girls oil i know the word is scary but the $5 "oily skin" oil wont be your friend. I personally love the oat cleansing balm by the inky list, or my favorita byoma hydrating oil cleanser. This step acts as your base cleanser its going to remove all makeup, leftover product, and dirt debris. Now after that is rinsed off or gently rubbed off with a wet towel any gel based cleanser is amazing. Not only will it remove any left over oil it will impact your skin more as its bare. For my acne prone a salicylic acid cleanser or just a gentle hydrating cleanser will work! For my girls with hyperpigmentation any cleanser with niacinimade or any "brightening" cleanser will work just read ingredients! Then after your face is semi dry a specific toner goes on with a cotton round or clean hands! I usually layer my toners some days i use an exfoliating toner in between my hydrating toner like a sandwich. Then for serums some people tend to go very wrong here... retinol thins your skin!!! yes if you have acne or scarring or any fine deep lines it can be beneficial in moderation but only a pea sized amount should be used. That burning shouldnt be ignored queen or put on without sunscreen but we will get to that part. Hyluaronic acid is my bestie! Byoma's Hydrating serum is amazing and so gentle, hydrating! There hydrating milky toner plus serum feels like your skin drank a glass of water. Niacinimide is amazing for discoloration. Salicylic acid is great for acne but needs to have something hydrating incoorporated either another serum or moisturizer. For my mature skin girls retinol is great for those fone lines but please use it sparingly. Only a pea. Please mix with something hydrating. You dont want to give yourself chemical burns or peel. Now finally for your moisturizers and spf's you want to lock in everything you just did with a nice creamy moisturizer. Lightweight gel moisturizers are great for ance prone even a thick rich cream works it just needs to have healthy ingredients. Spf's you typically want to wear them only for morning application or mid day if not wearing makeup. No need to wear it to bed unless you sleep with all your lights on... I would cry to see that light bill. For acne prone girls a thick heavy greasy spf wont do your skin any good, and it will definitely clog your pores. Byoma's Orange spf bottle is super lightweight, and not greasy at all. If your doing at home care try and keep it morning and night. Sleeping in your makeup is a nightmare that you unfortunately wake up from and its in the mirror. Morning care is just as important as night care because you sweat in your sleep, your skin produces oils, your hair oils can get on your skin, and so many more factors.
